Okay, the Legislature is finally out of session and it does not look like it will reconvene in the near future. It is now up to the judicial system to stop the regressive laws that were signed by the governor.
However, a new problem might rear it's ugly head in the next upcoming presidential election. Therefore, I've changed my avatar from the upside down Texas flag which denoted the state of emergency to the following:

(8,747 posts)Just Perry might strike some as too obscure. To my shame, I didn't even know you're Texas flag was upside down.
How about the State of Texas shaded completely in Blue?
Or the upper portion, or the LEFT portion Blue, or the Left diagonally, and the rest red. With the Blue portion larger of course. Such that it gives the idea Texas is changing from a red to a blue state.

(112,237 posts)He ran for president, participated in numerous debates, was very visible in the media (both liberal and conservative) and has been governor for 13 years. If anyone had their head stuck in the sand that long they wouldn't be breathing anymore and if oxygen was being pumped to them then they probably wouldn't be reading DU.
BTW, if I was going to use a shaded map of Texas the blue areas would be along the border with Mexico. West Texas is the most conservative area of the state so they don't deserve the blue shade.
