Woman pleads guilty to Koch fraud scheme, may testify against others

A woman admitted to a fraudulent scheme to pocket extra money from Koch Pipeline Company.

Joanna Jackson pleaded guilty to money laundering Tuesday in a U.S. District Court in Corpus Christi.

U.S. attorneys recommended to a federal judge a light sentence in exchange for Jackson’s plea. Jackson's sentencing is scheduled June 7.

As part of her plea, Jackson signed a statement detailing a conspiracy. She also may testify against others charged. Those included are former Jim Wells County sheriff candidate Adan Caro; his wife, Sandra Caro; and stepson Eulalio “Lalo” Orta III; Rene Colon and Joshua Price. Each have been indicted and pleaded not guilty. Their trials are slated for June in Senior U.S. District Judge Hayden Head’s court.
