The Washington County Commissioners Court could help bring new jobs to the county when they meet Monday with the approval of a tax phase-in for the Brazos Valley Brewing Company.

The brewery applied for a tax phase-in previously with the Brenham City Council, and was approved at Thursday’s meeting. Josh Bass, the brewing company’s chief financial officer, says the company hopes to be open by early June.

Brazos Valley Brewing was approved a tax phase-in plan by the Washington County Commissioners Court at this morning’s meeting, completing the second part of the approval process.

The plan will allow for an abatement on property taxes, using a scale with jobs created and capital invested as the criterias for the criteria.
