Washington, D.C. -- Asked on ABCs This Week Sunday ..............
Raddatz asked: You dont think 2,000 air strikes is taking it to ISIS in Syria and Iraq?
................
I think anywhere and everywhere, we have to be go beyond just aggressive air strikes. We have to look at other surgical methods. And ultimately, we have to be prepared to put boots on the ground if thats what it takes.
Raddatz asked: U.S. boots on the ground in Syria?
Walker responded, I dont think that is an immediate plan, and added, I wouldnt rule anything out. I think when you have the lives of Americans at stake and our freedom loving allies anywhere in the world, we have to be prepared to do things that dont allow those measures, those attacks, those abuses to come to our shores........

(10,303 posts)I'm going to give him a break here... we don't know what the world will be like when the next President of the United States takes office in 2017. It's possible that Obama might have to put boots in Syria before then.
However Mr. Walker's statement says to me is that he is the kind of guy who would send in US troops to a place where we shouldn't be. I don't know if it's on a Bush/Cheney level but it's obviously more willing than Obama.
Which means: find someone more suitable to the office of the President and work to get that individual elected, along with an appropriate running mate.

(3,974 posts)And he exposed himself as a fool who can only repeat talking points. I watched the video of the interview and it turns out he's even dumber than I thought. The clumsy attempt at name dropping (Kissinger, et al) to imply he has foreign policy credibility was priceless. Of course the other fools, as well as those who profit by his position of power, will spin the exposure of his incompetence as an attack by the socialist/communist/leftist media.

This is one (of many) things that worry me about the uneducated and anti-education governor of Wisconsin. Does he even have a remote CLUE where he'd be sending these troops?

(3,974 posts)He's not there to think, he's there to carry out others' wishes in exchange for being given the opportunity to play out his Ronald Reagan fantasy. The powers behind the scenes don't want to bankroll anyone who might question their orders. Think how much he has in common with George W. Bush- both men are dickish sociopaths of sub-standard intelligence. No conscience or critical thinking abilities to get in the way of doing the dirty work asked of them as soulless front men for the military industrial complex.

(2,577 posts)That pretty much sums it up. As much as Christie and Kasich scare me, Scotty scares me even more.
