13th person granted immunity in John Doe investigation

A 13th person has been granted immunity in a secret Milwaukee County investigation that has already led to criminal charges against six people close to Gov. Scott Walker.

Online court records say a judge on Thursday granted Fran McLaughlin's request for immunity.

McLaughlin served as Walker's county spokeswoman from 2007 to 2010, when Walker was the Milwaukee County executive. She's now the spokeswoman for Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke.

When reached for comment, defense attorney Michael A.I. Whitcomb cited court rules preventing him from discussing the case.

The only one left must be the John Doe.

Kleefisch (lt gov)

Davis (ran for lt gov, lost primary)

Nardelli (Walker's chief of staff who asked for the John Doe and quit)

Villa (Walker's chief of staff after Nardelli)

5. Doesn't some of the stuff pre-date the governor's campaign?

That would rule out K-fish and Davis.

Since Nardelli asked for the Doe, he may be clean.

campaigning for a long time I believe.

It'll at least be some consolation if Barrett loses.

But still I'd rather not have to put up with the drama of him going through the Blagojevich process. More distraction we don't need.
