Justine and Chloé!
Congratulations to them .... can you imagine how their family must be celebrating right now?!
I love moguls .... these sisters are spectacular! Maxime did really well too ... they should all be so proud.

(8,646 posts)I was watching and holding my breath...that's just so great for them, I was hoping there would be more than one of those sisters on the podium! I love all the skiing and snowboarding events. Woohoo! Go Canada!
I love them all too .... on the rare occasion I get to ski downhill I head straight for the moguls, they're a blast .... how these young women can do 4 in 1 second (if I heard that correctly) just amazes me.
I'm so happy for them all!

(8,646 posts)It's been a good 18 years or so since I've hit the slopes, but I've always loved the moguls too. Oh, heck, I love straight runs where I can just go fast straight down too. I miss the mountains!! My knees wouldn't hold out now anyway. 4 moguls in 1 second is amazing.

(20,582 posts)Though there are a few smaller ski-hills a couple of hours away that we try to get to a few times a winter. My Dad introduced us to a brand new kind of skiing though - he modified a bunch of sets of short, wide skis - the kind that kids use, hooked up a tow-rope to the back of a snowmobile and told us to hang on for dear life. No skill involved but praying. It's gotten to be a tradition, even since he's gone, but so much fun. When you don't have mountains, you invent crazy things.
The women's hockey team had a good game today too against Switzerland. They're looking good! Hayley Wickenheiser's short-handed goal was great! I felt a bit bad for the Swiss team, you could tell they're quite young and perhaps haven't had the experience a lot of ours have. Their goalie was outstanding.

I'll have to take a look at the highlights.
I wanted to mention Mark McMorris too - is that a great story or what? Bronze with a broken rib. I watched the qualifying runs and he was having so much trouble, I'm so happy he got a medal!

(20,582 posts)Absolutely, that was fantastic. I can't imagine how much it would have hurt hitting each bump. I had laugh at an interview I read where he said it doesn't make sense to be from Saskatchewan and on the podium for skiing. Hopefully he heals up fast now.

(20,582 posts)Kevin Reynolds was great (I hadn't realized how young he looks - like14!) - he just got bumped down to second place by Russia's Plyushchenko, who did very well.
