Comedy Central seems to be playing Silly Buggers with the Daily Show again.

Not content with bumping it forward to midnight on what seems to be the spurious grounds that it contains "adult" humour and strong (though bleeped-out) language, it's being bumped to 1 am on Fridays.

A more cynical man than me might suggest that it won't be long before they find that there's "no demand" for it and replace it with yet another fifth-rate US sitcom.

I get it at the same time 8:00 pm as usual and a repeat at 10:00 pm. I think it might be your cable provider doing that not Comedy Central. You may want to talk to them.

Also, there is no new Daily Show on Friday. They just air Monday through Thursday.

due to an almost complete absence of interest in a lame program which is a mere shadow of Private Eye for example.

You sure you've not been watching repeats ?

but wouldn't waste my time watching it anyway. As far as I'm concerned Stewart is a smug , self satisfying creep.

In the current atmosphere in the States, I find him and Stephen Colbert (whose show we've also lost) a breath of fresh air.

But, to each his own, my friend.
