Greater Manchester area: anti-Semitic hate crimes up 80 percent in a year

Story here

Crime statistics for the Greater Manchester area show a disturbing eighty percent rise in anti-Semitic hate crimes. The chief of police strongly condemned the most recent incident, in which an unknown individual painted a swastika on the pavement in a Jewish neighborhood.

Too many haters. The UK is one of the less anti-Semitic countries of Europe; but like most of Europe it's been getting worse recently.

Interesting but depressing article from 'The Independent' here:

I am not very keen on the phrase 'the new antisemitism' as anti-Semitism is hardly new; but the neo-Nazi types are certainly regrouping and increasing in number. They are less identified with the BNP as such (which is imploding badly) than in the past; but they have other groupings.
