Best Internet provider?
At my office, I use Clear because it is cheap and works there. Have been resisting U verse, but maybe I need to go there. Any other suggestions?

What kind of connection do you currently have?
What connections are available and from whom?

(10,170 posts)I think we have most everything available except for the new Google thing which is on its way. We currently have DSL from people PC. Not excited about it, but it was spouse's choice. Now he wants to change, so I am doing our research. Advice welcome.

(3,270 posts)I don't think you can go wrong with most of your major broadband providers in Austin. There seems to be a major broadband war going on right now, thanks to Google Fiber on the way.

The list at the bottom shows the most popular and their speeds. With the current competition going on, call the one you decide on and push them to make a deal... chances are they will try hard to win your business with a price cut.

(10,170 posts)For finding these two articles! I used to have Grande for phone service but AT&T got aggressive and legislated them into a corner.
I will investigate the options provided in order of their ranking. I had AT & T and time warner at different times at my office. Happier and way cheaper to have Clear. Unfortunately, the Clear is oversold and has very poor reception at my home.
Thanks again!

(245 posts)Also keep in mind that there are resellers you can deal with that are better then the big guys, like Earthink reselling cable or TDS reselling DSL.
Best way to find out what options you have is to check up over here http://dslreports.com/ they have ratings and forms for every ISP, have reps from most ISP to field questions and regional forums so you can ask about what ISPs are best in your area.
