All-in-one printer good at photo scanning?
Hi - I'm about to get Epson's xp-820 and wanted to 1st hear if anyone who's been looking at printers lately might have any advice about a better printer in the same general price range ($150ish). Features I want are:
automatic feeder
duplex printing
memory card slot
wireless
very good quality photo scans (photo printing isn't important)
Thanks!!

(10,136 posts)The question should probably be, what software are you using to handle the scanned photos?
I have an HP Photosmart Premium printer/fax/scanner. Don't recall the price as it's been years, but probably over $150.

Some scanners come with special attachments for slides as placing the slides directly no the glass usually does not work that well.

I've had good success copying slides with a digital camera/macro lens, once you get it set up it's much faster than a scanner and the images can be quite good..
You can even do it with a smart phone..
