Microsoft Security Essentials issue

I removed AVAST and installed MSE on my XP Pro system.

When I rebooted I noticed the MSE icon was not showing near the time/date in the lower right corner of the desktop page.

I checked if was in the "Startup" in the Systems Configuration Utility via START>RUN>MSCONFIG.
The Command points to the "msseces.exe" file however it is followed with "-hide -runkey". Does this explain why it is hidden?
I'd like it to show so I have a visual reminder it is up and running.
Do I go to the registry and remove these tags?

I had to edit the registry and remove the "-hide " tag. I left the "-runkey" tag.
