Trying to record an online video...

There's an embedded video on web page that I'd like to make a copy of using a screen capture program (JIng). I've successfully captured the video but not the audio-- though I can hear it as the original plays. Jing doesn't seem to have an option for changing the audio source from mic to anything else.
Any suggestions for grabbing the original audio? Could I use a jumper cable to connect the PC's headphone out into the mic in or something like that?

If it's a Flash video and you use Firefox you can get one of the Flash video downloader plugins to
handle the download for you.

It seems to be Flash video. I've used free programs in the past to download stuff from Youtube (on edit: that's just for example-- these are not Youtube vids) but no luck so far with these videos.

10. Well I tried it and it saved a small (335 Kb) file that claims to be a FLV but seems to be nada.

I'll hang on to the program and see what else it works on. Thanks. Always fun to try new stuff.

Many of the tools for grabbing videos are sketchy.

I use Linux and can grab most anything, but I don't.

If someone demands I use Adobe software, well, I don't have to look at their stuff.

If they've copy protected their stuff, same thing.

It's a very big world, there are plenty of very creative people not playing these IP protection games.

Whenever I buy art I prefer to buy it directly from the artist. It doesn't feel right when a middleman gets most of the money.
