Live video feeds - neither AdBlock nor FlashBlock nor NoScript

Just another minor annoyance, but lately CNN, ESPN and other sites seem to think they have enhanced the whole experience by loading windows with live video streaming that are oblivious to any attempts to remove or disable them. None of the usually effective tools have had any effect. I have tried about:config, and setting 'plugins.click_to_play' to 'true'. I have rightclicked on the video at CNN and set 'how much information can cnn.com store on your computer?' to 0kB. Still, the videos display. This is not on a mobile device, just the home PC, still quite annoying.

Any other ideas?

Can you give a link to a page where the video starts immediately? I'm curious if you have previously given permission to flashblock to load videos from that page.

I just installed Flashblock this morning since AdBlock wasn't working. I haven't given any sites permission unless there's a default whitelist I'm not aware of.

It is strange that AdBlock doesn't give you the option to block that type of thing by right-clicking. And FlashBlock seems to be ineffectual as well.

I did a quick google search and it appears you have to manually tell Adblock to block the individual element. I am not sure how to find the element's address on various sites. From the comments on this thread http://community.myhughesnet.com/hughesnet/topics/warning_cnn_com_depleting_usage you can use:

z.cdn.turner.com/xslo/cvp/assets/container/2.0.4.0 as a new filter in Adblock to stop the streaming on CNN but I am not sure how they determined the address. It worked for me in Chrome browser. I'll play around with it over the next couple of days and see if I can find an extension that works automatically.

by telling NoScript to not trust cnn.com

This is probably the sledge hammer solution....
