Does anyone design websites?

If so, what do you use for software. I haven't done any web design since the early days of the internets, when we did HTML on notepad and viewed it in the browser. I have an old copy of Dreamweaver (C3) which I have never used but I think there are now easier things to work with. I want to get at it and not spend time playing around with software. Any suggestions? Thanks!

by Karelia.... more powerful and user friendly than Wordpress, easier to use than Dreamweaver, a decent option for apple machines

I've been struggling with Wordpress. I somehow have 2 home pages and I have no idea how to get rid of one of them. I'd just like to be able to bang it up and not have weird surprises... or hidden charges.
