Fighting back
This is my first post in the BOG. I don't know if I'm supposed to ask permission to join but I decided to just jump in. I'm seeing some old smears of President Obama resurface online and I thought it might be good to have a thread that debunks them. I'll start with the most recent one I have seen but I hope others will pitch in so we have a resource readily available to smack this crap down when we see it.
Two of my Facebook "friends" posted a picture the other day of Michelle and the President saying the pledge with their left hand over the right side of their chest. I'm not going to post it here because I don't like to perpetuate this stuff but here are two links which debunk it...

I responded to both of these "friends" by saying "It's fake" and posting the snopes link. (actually I added a slightly nastier comment to the one person who editorialized on how disrespectful this was.) When I checked back later that day both people had removed the picture. I also went to the page where the picture originated and reported it but Facebook hasn't taken it down. I did notice that someone has now commented under the original posting saying it's fake and adding the snopes link. Small victory, I know, but hopefully this will keep it from spreading even more than it already has.
Anyway...If you see any smears floating around that you can debunk, please post them, especially the debunking part. I'm so sick of the lies these ugly people spread about President Obama.

The liars who posted the picture you mentioned got it by making it a reverse image. It's been around awhile and it's just as disgusting now as it was then.

This is a really nice group. I'm really hoping I don't have much of this kind of stuff to report. And since I've rerouted all my teabagger relatives' email to the trash can, you just wouldn't believe how pleasant it is now to check my messages now. 
I told them all to just call me or text me with actual important family news.
But I'm glad you are doing this. We can't all stick our heads in the sand like I do.
