James Bond shaken, stirred in DWI crash
A drunken-driving suspect named James Bond crashed into a pole and caused a power outage that affected nearly 3,000 CPS Energy customers in and around Ingram Park Mall early Monday, police said.
He apparently was drinking beer, not Smirnoff martinis, police said. And there's no word on whether he was driving an Aston Martin.
Police said Bond was traveling in the 6700 block of Ingram Road toward Wurzbach Road about 1:30 a.m. when he failed to control his speed and hit a utility pole.
CPS Energy spokesman John Moreno said the impact caused an outage that affected 2,900 customers, but power was restored about an hour later. The crash caused more than $20,000 in damage, police said.
