An eye-opener: Bernie and Guns

First of all, for the record, Bernie is my Vermont Senator and I love him, but I strongly support Hillary for President.

Today in another online forum, I encountered some fierce Bernie supporters, possibly bordering on scary. I'm newly back at DU after a long absence, and it appears similar may have happened here. Then I figured things out: it's the gun nuts.

Bernie advocates loose gun laws because it would be difficult to win in VT without the support and votes of Vermont hunters. That gun position now draws the support of many "gun rights" advocates outside VT. And some of them are scary.

So if the inter-candidate battles here seem to be taken to a new level this Primary -- or if unlikely advocates show up -- that, IMO, could be part of the cause. My hope is that "gunsense" prevails, here and elsewhere. And take care out there.

2. Gun trolls are all over the Internets pretending to be for Bernie.

Because of his gun manufacturers support, he's the perfect cover for them as they bash Hillary, Obama, ...all Democrats.

It's a carbon copy of 'Greens' 'supporting Nader' online in 2000.

For the record, I am a big Bernie fan.

But it's clear he's being used as camouflage.

Which is ironic, because few gun nuts have ever seen military service.

2nd Amendment rights are a stone cold passion with some people. There is no argument.

This explains the unreasonableness concerning Hillary history and any position she may take. It's not about Hillary. It is about ending Hillary.

Exact same with Iraq War Authorization vote. Hillary is going to pay for that vote, especially since everyone else involved got away with it! There is no argument. They want to end Hillary.

This is why we have to have a reasonable expectation of safe haven and sanctuary, or Hillary supporters have nowhere to go.

10. Bordering on scary is what several of them are like on FB too.

People made a big deal of the fact that unhappy Bernie supporters were posting en masse on threads on the AFT FB page and figured that meant they were the majority. But I myself was not willing to tangle with their nastiness and I'm sure several were in the same boat.

The gun issue isn't going to play with urban/suburban voters.

are all gun owners. We own guns. We live in the country. We hunt. We are Democrats who support HRC.

I think there are many paid trolls and nutty right wingers with time on their hands. They are pretending to support Bernie.

Bernie is smart about guns. FIrst of all, he recognizes that different policies have to be in effect in rural vs. urban areas. Makes Sense! Secondly, he recognizes that their has to be smart sense reform and he is more than open to it. Check it out.

Third: Vote Bernie! Why stick with the status quo Hillary Clinton? Find someone who will challenge the Big Banks, the Billionaires, the Corporate politicians. This is the chance! Get behind Bernie!
