I'm on my phone and can't cut and paste but this is good and complements the "field guide" thread:

(30,058 posts)She has been vetted for years, been investigated based on "conspiracy theories". Cognitive dissonance runs deep, funny how climbing a trèe to tell a lie when the truth sounds better on the ground works for many.

(11,605 posts)...and why that interview with the New York Daily News was such a disaster--they pushed him past his rhetoric to find he hadn't even really thought about the mechanics of any of his "proposals." After many years, too.
Why hadn't anyone else done the proper job of interviewing him before? This is what is stunning to me. Hillary Clinton seems to have to jump through flaming hoops repeatedly, and Bernie Sanders gets fed cues for all his favorite lines--that's it.

(3,284 posts)the reason Hillary hasn't gone after BS is because "there's nothing to attack him on."

(5,648 posts)when he traveled there to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Sandinista revolution, or his recollections of his talks with Danial Ortega, or his honeymoon in the USSR, or his comments about the greatness of the Castro government after his trip to Cuba, or why he read Engels, Marks and Lennon as a young man, or why he displayed a Soviet flag in his mayor's office in Burlington, or ....(the list goes on).
Frankly I am proud of Clinton for not bring up these matters. They would have given inaccurate impression that Bernie Sanders was a communist sympathizer during the height of the cold war and it would have had little or no affect on Sanders's support.
However, it is a good thing the Repug hit squads will never get a chance to unload on poor Bernie. He would not survive with his reputation intact. And it would only be a taste what Hillary has endured these many years.
