Hillary Clinton

Theory: DU has become a toxic place for Clinton supporters
Mild criticism of Bernie, opinion of Clinton supporters, and sardonic posts regarding Bernie by Clinton supporters in OUR SAFE SPACE are often alerted and hidden.
On the other hand, disgusting comments about Hillary and/or Hillary supporters are rarely hidden by juries.
To test the hypothesis that awful posts about Hillary or her supporters are given sanction I alerted the following post in GD-P:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511210918
If you support Hillary, you support Kissinger. If Democrats nominate Hillary, they are endorsing Kissinger. What a profound insult to humanity.
It has 63 Recs. A reasonable person would say this is flame bait and has no place here. That was my alert.
Here are the results of the jury:
On Fri Feb 12, 2016, 05:53 PM you sent an alert on the following post:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
YOUR COMMENTS
This post is utterly flame bait. Please let's send a message that this type of rhetoric is beyond the pale at DU.
JURY RESULTS
A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Fri Feb 12, 2016, 06:05 PM, and voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT ALONE.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Poor logic.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Its a valid opinion, felt strongly by the poster. Period.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I disagree with the OP, but this isn't hide worthy.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Actually, it's fairly typical of GD-P Alerts are not to hide opinions you do not agree with
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: One poster's opinion. Holy FUCK! I can't wait until the primaries are over. Leave it.
Thank you.
I think these results are an indication that we are not in a safe place.
Be careful out there my friends.

(10,847 posts)I know Hillary will win but I'm starting to worry that these children at DU will remain.

(31,170 posts)there will be a change in what's allowed to stand. Skinner also talked about changes after the primary....so I expect thing will be a lot different.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Rude and inappropriate: calling out another poster in a protected group where they can't defend themselves. This is an abuse of protected groups.

(10,847 posts)Not a safe place.
Let's hang together until the children leave after Sanders unsuccessful bid.
NanceGreggs
(27,816 posts)They have absolutely no reason to.
They will keep bashing Hillary after she's declared the nominee. They represent 85% to 90% of DU, along with the jury pool. They will vote to "leave" anti-HRC posts - same as they're doing now.
So it's against the TOS. So what? Skinner has said juries aren't expected to enforce the TOS. The TOS is violated on a daily basis, and has been for years.
If Skinner starts banning BSers who continue their current behaviour, they'll scream they're being censored, and they'll leave for friendlier message boards (there are already several pro-BS sites up and running). He can't afford to lose that many posters, that much traffic; his revenue from DU depends on it.
Those of us looking forward to the campaign leading up to the November election won't stay here if our enthusiasm for our nominee is dampened every day by the toxic anti-HRC bullshit.
The BSers now control DU - and Skinner allowed that to happen, in the same way he allowed the anti-Obamans to control it for years. As a result, DU has lost traffic/posters steadily since 2008. I left DU for several years because of the Dem-bashing - when I returned, I couldn't believe how many of the posters I had "known" here for years were gone.
Skinner is now caught between that proverbial rock and a hard place. Either he risks losing 85% of DU's current BSer members, or he risks losing the small number of HRCers still here while DU becomes a Democratic-hate site. How do you think that's going to turn out?

(27,816 posts)... I'm definitely out of here. And I won't be the only one.
We've all seen regulars here who have stated they won't even venture into GDP until the nominee is declared and the TOP "no bashing the nominee" rule kicks in.
If that rule doesn't kick-in, they're going to be pretty pissed-off that they patiently waited for nothing.

(11,595 posts)Scanning the headlines and reading the odd paragraph, as I sometimes do, on the main page always disgusts me. The world reflected there and the one that I know do not jive at all.
I have a pretty good knowledge of political history, a college degree in Social Sciences, and a reasonable amount of common sense--together tell me that the place the Bernistas are operating from (at least the ones that seem to be the most obnoxiously visible) is not a place grounded in reality at all. The issues, history, "facts", opinions, concerns, predictions, and political and world characters are all made up. The Hillary Clinton they foam at the mouth about is not, or ever was, real, except in their imaginations and in GOP driven headlines and memes. Ditto for Bernie, our history, our government, society, how it all works, etc.
It is a very scary revelation.

(90,744 posts)....and have tantrums if you try to correct the record. Or, and this is a new favorite, they demand you repeat what has been already abundantly stated, and then pretend you didn't.
Hillary is murderous and equals Kissinger. Obama has achieved nothing at all. FDR was practically God. Hillary says "I". Obama said "make me," and apparently never said "We have to do this together."
It IS scary. I used to rely on DU for information -- I can still tell you really key things I learned back in 2002 through 2008. That place is gone. And we are being hunted to extinction.
Referring back to what Nance said above, I don't think "those people" are going away.
JURY: I almost deleted this out of an abundance of caution. But why? I've been here since 2002, and like Americans in general, I believe in truthful speech.

(22,756 posts)just mean spirited... I really like and respect Bernie, but I sure am beginning to dislike his supporters... I don't venture much out there and may not stay around long if it continues
