Essentially they were both kidnapped, Giménez was a close friend to Carlos Ocariz, current mayor of the Sucre municipality, and Leopoldo Lopez. Giménez was also cousin to Lorenzo Mendoza, who is one of the owners of Empresas Polar. Both victims were shot in the head.
Considering the circumstances, as well as the close relationship the men had to Leopoldo Lopez and the Mendozas, this sure as hell doesn't sound like a common express kidnapping or robbery. It seems those who do the dirty work for the government are now starting to use political assassinations as a way to instill fear. I was afraid things would reach this point

figures would start disappearing, and was soundly flamed for it. It looks like it's starting in earnest.
Some tough days are ahead.

Isn't that the standard answer of the Maduro supporters and the regime itself?

(5,005 posts)4. It sure is. They even put the word "students" in quotes when referring to the protests, as if
the entire graduating class of 2018 is composed of spies and agents provocateur.
Silly.

Students don't have anything to lose. They can't be fired from their jobs so they can protest social injustices and government incompetence that we see so blatantly in Venezuela.
