Paraguayan Govīt will Use Force Against Workers
Asuncion, Aug 19 (Prensa Latina) The Paraguayan government announced that, starting this Monday, police will intervene in the strike and occupation of the Finance offices by its workers who demand wage increases.
Meanwhile, Federico Franco, who holds the presidency of the Republic after the ouster of President Fernando Lugo, described as immoral and unworthy of employees protest approach considering that generates big difference with other state employees.
The announcement of the use of the police force to end the strike was made at a joint conference of the head of that agency, Manuel Ferreira, and Interior Minister Carmelo Caballero.
The protesters occupy, since last Thursday, various departments of the Ministry of Finance in support of their demands, but the statements of Ferreira and Caballero, after a meeting with Franco, were emphatic in announcing the eviction of the workers by police starting monday.

Paraguayan Delegation at MERCOSUR Meeting Rejected.
Asuncion, Aug 19 (Prensa Latina) A Paraguayan official delegation was rejected when trying to participate in a meeting summoned by the South Common Market(MERCOSUR)in Brasilia, due to the suspension of that country from that bloc.
The Paraguayan Foreign Ministry announced today the frustration of Federico Franco�s government envoys to the meeting, who were denied access to the facility where the talks are taking place in relation to the current links with the Pan-American Health Organization.
The MERCOSUR group specialized with that activity rejected the Paraguayan presence in accordance with the decision of the last Summit of MERCOSUR Presidents.
The agreement prevents delegates of the current Paraguayan government from attending any MERCOSUR meeting as long as the democratic process, is not resumed in that country.
