Electric razor or razor blade?

I've shaved with a razor since my brother got me shaving with one when I was a teen, (he was in the army).

I use soap and shave in the shower.

I'm almost 50 and I don't have to deal with it everyday. The disposable blades last for over a month.

Yes, you can get knives hair-whittling shaving sharp. I had gotten to work only to discover I had missed a rather prominent chunk of hair... so I whipped out my pocket knife and remedied it.

11. Facial hair trimmer with no attachment... it's easier and faster than an electric shaver or razor.

It leaves the look of 1 day stubble, which I'm fine with. Light stubble is alot better than completely unshaven or looking scruffy. And it doesn't matter if I let it go a few days. With a razor, if I let the hair go for a week or so then it's a bitch to shave just because the hair is tough & long.

14. I might be the only person in the world to get cut with an electric razor.

My skin is so sensitive I can't shave more often than every ten days. A week is the very earliest I can and be comfortable. I prefer Gilette good news twin blade with the lubricated strip. In fact, I insist on it. Gives me the best, cleanest shave.

I have considered laser treatment or something that will keep it from growing back for a long time or permenantly. I hate shaving that much.

15. Razor. Electric doesn't work on me.

16. Double-edge safety razor!

I rebelled against the big razor companies and the relentless race to add more blades. This year I got an old-fashioned double-edge safety razor, a supply of disposable razor blades, plus a mug for shaving cream (I like Col. Conk's Almond shave soap - smells nice), and a brush (maybe $75 total).

I was afraid there was going to be a steep, bloody learning curve, but I really haven't cut myself once in about 5 months of daily shaving. I've had a few tiny blood spots, but no more than I got with the latest-greatest triple-bladed disposable.

I won't go near a straight razor, though. That's just crazy.

Nice DE with Merkur blades. Better quality shave and less cost. Think the Mach 3 blades are $17 for package, rip off. Got a lot of good info from the Blade and Badger forums.

20. Razor, but....

I'm starting to think about switching over to an electric razor. Seems faster, can use it anywhere, less nicks, etc.

I do like multi-blade razors and the shave you get when they are new, but unless I shave everyday (which I don't), I spend as much or more time banging the razor on the sink to knock out the hairs that jam up between the blades than I do actually shaving. Drives me crazy.

If I'm Shick or BIC or whoever, instead of spending $ on hi-tech looking razors with 8 blades, design a blade cartridge that expands to release the hairs that clog up...it'd cut down the shaving time by 50-100% or more and I'd be a customer for life.

i like the smoothness of a good razor, though i will use electric in real stubborn areas then use a razor to smooth it out.
