Chairmageddon!
My Dear Daughter is a quite small woman -- 5' 2" and about 100 pounds.
At her large company she had a chair for 3 years that was comfortable for her (her feet touched the floor and her back touched the seat back).
One day, the daughter of the owner came through her department and saw that DD's chair fabric didn't match the others and took away her chair.
The new chair was too big and DD's feet dangled in the air. Even at the lowest position, and having the chair manufacturer's rep try to adjust it and ordering a new piston --- nothing worked.
So they brought back her old chair for a few days, then took it away again to have it reupholstered in the matching fabric.
A few days ago, DD was getting up from the chair and one of the arms fell off, nearly catapulting her onto the floor. Upon closer examination, she saw the the chair arm was held on with staples!
This petty and patently ridiculous situation has caused my DD a lot of stress, especially since her boss has NOT been in her corner over it and actually laughed at DD when she complained about the arm-falling-off episode.
I don't know why I'm posting this, except I'm on the receiving end of complaints and tears about Chairmageddon and have run out of advice to give.
