http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/diesel-powered-british-supercar-trident-icini-promises-200-200130777.htmlBy using a diesel, the Iceni GT can burn a variety of fuels, from regular diesel to used restaurant oils, and at cruising speed of 70 mph, can travel 2,000 miles on a tank of gas. If all these figures sound too good to be true, it's because they are a bit; it's not that diesel engines aren't capable of fantastic performance, but that the technology for doing so usually takes more engineering than a handful of people can pull together. While Trident didn't reveal much about the engine, General Motors builds a 6.6-liter diesel in its trucks good for 397 hp and 765 ft.-lbs.
Uh huh.

(5,861 posts)Looks cool too. I really doubt it is 69mpg at 200 mph but still impressive, considering the piss poor mileage of other 200mph capable cars. Probably just fail reporting and not the designer's misrepresentation.
Edit - "70 mph, can travel 2,000 miles on a tank of gas" that is 28.6 mpg still very impressive for a super car.

(37,449 posts)nice in a 2 seater but is it practical. A 6.6 lt engine is the size of a old Chrysler 400ci. its now used in Silverado trucks LML engine its uses urea - yup - to mix with any form of bio-diesel. so the truck using this also has a 5.3 gallon tank for it.
