I just made a donation to Planned Parenthood. They ended up with three times what I gave.
A few days ago, on my computer (probably at work), I saw a banner ad at the top of the DU page saying that any donation I made to PP would be matched. I didn't do anything about it at the time, but I said to myself that if I saw the ad again, I would do something.
The banner window showed up again this morning, while I was at work. This time, my donation would not be merely matched. Instead, what I gave would be doubled, with that amount thrown in on top of mine, so that PP would end up with three times what I gave.
I was waiting for that. I filled in the info and clicked "send."
You can encourage the appearance of the banner window by searching for "planned parenthood." Google, ever watchful, will skew advertising along those lines to the sites you visit. If you want to see what sort of offer the ACLU has, search for "ACLU" a lot. Google never misses a thing.
The offer is good through tomorrow.
