NYC or DC, what do you think? Couchsurfing with friends works for both. Bringing a child and DC is the tougher trip, but seems more child friendly.

But I'm actually not great in big crowds and also, I'm kind of packed to meet some nice DUErs again. So far I have about six of us going to meet after. (Three threads, HA)

But I've marched in DC and it's incredible. If I had a kid and a couch I'd probably go to that - it's going to be amazing!

in a small town in West Virginia. About 30 folks there and all are planning to attend the March.

My end of the table had an interesting discussion. The women (and a few men) who came to the meet-up are medical professionals, school teachers and university professors, social workers and consultants. "What about the folks who work at Walmart?" someone asked. Well, we assumed that most of the minimum wage workers could not afford the bus trip or car travel (400 miles one-way!) or they could not get off for the better part of three days.

But we talked. And we decided that we need to do something to involve those folks. So we are already scheduling a post-March get together, to figure out what to do next.

Together we rise!

A woman's organizer I knew would always ask more eatablished women she knew who couldn't make a ticketed event if they'd like to sponsor a younger activist to go there in their stead. And many bought an extra ticket to give away. It worked to diversify the crowd and also gave older folks a slightly easier out, since they knew they were helping those with more energy get involved.

I wish I had thought of buying tickets for others earlier.

I'm driving to DC, with both of my sisters and two nieces. That weekend is going to rock! I love traveling with my family.
