I am firing my endocrinologist who was referred by my primary care doc.

She was very demeaning to me and I am calling my pcp tomorrow to get another endocriologist referral. She wanted me to go to a psychologist because she said I was "a ball of anxiety."

I've never done this before. Most docs are great. She was not.

Oh well, it was just a waste of my precious time...

2. Under HIPAA, you have a right to obtain full records, including pt notes

Important that you obtain these in case she wrote anything inflammatory and which she could share with insurer. Do this before you file the complaint, please. You can use that against her if necessary.

He'll find someone else for me. He's a good guy. There are other endocrinologists in her group's practice but I am so turned off and mad I'll find somebody inthe pphone book, if necessary...

4. Don't know how she delivered that, but lots -- tens of millions -- of patients have anxiety which

causes all kinds of problems. Heck, it might just be anxiety related to your health issues. I would not be offended by a doctor telling me I was a ball of anxiety. Now if the inference was your medical problems are just in your head, that's different.

I don't know any endocrinologists in CT, but I do know some in RI, if you're close enough to travel there!

there would be something very wrong with you if you didn't have a lot of anxiety.

I'm assuming your PCP made the referral on the basis of lab results he found suspicious.

That endo better start looking for a new job now if she thinks she's going to dismiss her patients as headcases without reviewing the data with them.

just had rotator cuff surgery, and took 3 tries to find the right surgeon. actually had one throw me out of his office.

next guy- great. young dude who puts old ladies beat up shoulders back together, which the big jock docs apparently dont like to do.
my rheumie sent me, and he is great. he always backs me up in this stuff, and has no problem w the fact that i think surgeons are all a little nuts.

cute young dude wearing pink socks. very nice, very forthcoming w explanations. actually gave me his cell number after the surgery. super smart pain plan, too.

so glad i'm not in a small town any more. all the best is here in chi.
