JJ Abrams confirms he is working on U2 series for Netflix
One of Hollywood's hottest directors has confirmed he is bringing the story of Ireland's biggest rock band, U2, to the small screen.
JJ Abrams - who has directed some of the biggest blockbusters of recent years in the Star Wars, Star Trek and Mission Impossible franchises - confirmed to RTÉ that he was working on bringing the U2 story to streaming giant Netflix.
He said he was "very excited" to be involved in the project.
It was reported earlier this month that Abrams' Bad Robot Productions had teamed up with the streaming giant for the series, which was described as being "in the early development stages".
