The Gambler on Amazon Prime (2014)

If you ever wanted to see the life of an average person who becomes addicted to gambling, this is it. Mark Wahlberg plays a professor who gets into gambling debt and it pretty much destroys him.

I guess this is a remake of a 1974 movie in which James Caan starred.

I like Mark Wahlberg more with every movie I see him in.

I have mixed feelings about Wahlberg. On the one hand, he's not a bad actor. But after hearing about how he almost beat that Asian man to death, I'm a bit hesitant to watch his movies. I feel the same way about Kevin Spacey.

to find out about the incident: Wahlberg, who was 16 at the time, claimed he was high on PCP.
I've heard that he's changed, and become a devoted Catholic. After playing a porn star in one of his first roles, he's now a lot more thoughtful.

Kevin Spacey, OTOH did his dirty deeds as an adult and denied everything. He's a great actor, but hard to watch.
