Married With Children To Be Reissued With Original Music

As I write this, it's been less than 2 hours since we posted news about Mill Creek Entertainment's January 21st re-releases of Married... with Children - Seasons 1 & 2, and separately of Season 1 and Season 2. Usually when we have an update this soon, we just incorporate it into the existing write-up...but this is too important not to draw BIG attention to it, we think. Because almost immediately after our last story, one of our readers - Michael Shipman - asked the question, "Will the music be intact with these releases?" We took that question to primarily relate to the original broadcast theme song for the show, Frank Sinatra's "Love and Marriage," a song which Sony tried to include in their original DVD releases a decade ago...but which came out and was replaced after a few initial seasons due to the high cost to license the song.

Even as we responded to the question with our guess that it was doubtful to us that Mill Creek could get the song licensed for their DVD sets of Married...with Children, a contact of ours at the studio was seeing the discussion and sending us a private email. With an answer "that fans are going to LOVE…. Our episodes WILL contain the Frank Sinatra "Love and Marriage" opening theme song!!!!!!!" WOW! What a coupe for Mill Creek. Kudos to them for making that happen.

The original show would have obtained a license for the initial screening (and even reruns) and DVDs, but who knew about streaming then.
