Fancy Feast Expanding into Feline Inspired Human Food

I thought this was funny since it's the only brand of cat food my two will eat.

Cat food brand Fancy Feast is expanding into feline-inspired human cuisine, with a New York City Italian restaurant designed to celebrate the company's new line.

Gatto Bianco, which means "white cat," is described by Fancy Feast as an "Italian-style trattoria," and will be open for dinner reservations on August 11-12 only, according to a news release from Purina, which produces Fancy Feast.

The human-friendly dishes were inspired by Fancy Feast's new "Medleys" cat food line, which feature options like "Beef Ragú Recipe With Tomatoes & Pasta in a Savory Sauce" for the cat with discerning taste.

They only eat the pate, but they like pretty much all of those.

I purposely wanted them to have a grain-free food. They now mostly eat that and very little kibble.

When she got sick and was not eating we tried different cans of it. When she passed my next door neighbor ended up with 3 cases of cat food.

I'm so sorry you lost your baby. I have one that probably isn't terribly long for this world. She has hyperthyroidism and had a bad reaction to the meds and I couldn't afford the nuclear iodine procedure.

because they made it smell as good to people as it does to cats.

I didn't think my kitty would appreciate the competition.

but the dog's Pedigree Ground Chicken Liver and Beef smells highly seasoned, more like human food. But still not tempted as I detest organ meats. I've never been so happy to move away from my parent's home and not be forced to eat liver ever again. My mom and two of my sisters loved chicken liver. I think my dad could take it or leave it since, thankfully, my mom didn't make it as often as they might have like and rarely beef liver.

I made it once for my ex and when he saw me lean over and puke into the trash can he knew that wasn't going to happen again. I never minded it when he'd order it in a restaurant, just don't expect me to cook or eat the stuff.

I was adept at hiding it in wads of toilet paper in my underwear starting when I was four or five. If we had a cat or dog, that's who got it. If not, the shrubbery got fertilized.

I think it might be genetic. People love it or hate it.

My dad's sticking point was pork. He'd ask what was for dinner and my mother would say pork chops and he'd say let's go out to eat. I knew she hadn't bought any in weeks but I never ratted her out. She hated cooking and we ate out a lot.

However, Fancy Feast tuna in gravy smelled wonderful.

Husband likes calf's liver and onions, but he knows I won't make it, so he used to order it at restaurants on occasion. Since we don't go to restaurants anymore since the pandemic, he gets it not at all. I don't think he's been really missing it, either, since he never brings it up. I did just get him some braunsweiger, so he's happy with that.

When I was a kid, the dog was strictly an outdoors pet, so no one to take it off me when mom made it. Had to sit there until either it was eaten, or we were all so miserable, my parents finally gave in if it went on too long. (I didn't have a great childhood.)

It's why I learned the toilet paper-underwear trick. No pets meant it went out the window into the shrubbery, where something usually ate it by morning.

By the time I was ten, my mother stopped fighting and just gave me a peanut butter sandwich when she made liver and onions. Maybe she suspected why the shrubbery was growing so well.

It's one of the things I'll do when I have more money than I know what to do with, although Retro's Whole Ground Rodent (Now With Bones!) or Assorted Insects may be offputting to some people.

It's expensive but our cats quite like it and it keeps the vet happy too. It's generally just meat plus the vitamins and minerals that would be in prey's bones and organs, and very quality to boot - their shredded chicken is *better* than a can of human stuff from the store. I speak from experience
