So here in central Pennsylvania its hard to find a decent Italian hoagie problem is the bread ,Like you will have in Philly or jersey or Brooklyn its the water or philly accent worter.
Although the local store has started carrying amorosa hoagie rolls.

(5,731 posts)Italian Dressing like Wishbone brand? And then brush it on with a pastry brush? I don't eat subs due to diabetes and the bread being way too many carbs but that sure sounds good. Enjoy.

(4,443 posts)Perfect outside crust, soft inside. Lots of good Italian bakeries there. Can't get them anywhere else I've been. I'm sure you'll make some scrumptious hoagies, though. When I go home once a year or so, I always get a cheesesteak, a panzarotti, and an Italian hoagie. You're making me homesick. lol They have the best snowflake rolls, too.

(22,767 posts)but, honestly, I just toss a small salad of chopped lettuce and onions, sliced tomatoes and toss in balsamic vinegar (red wine or apple cider works, too) and oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder, then put that on my sub when it comes out of the oven. No fuss, no muss, no biggie. Delicious!

(22,767 posts)Vinegar and oil was the only kind of salad dressing we ever had as kids. We didn't know or care that anything else even existed.

(12,928 posts)I love tomatoes onions and salad drenched in vinegar and oil. I do enjoy when the produce is fresh from local farms and we go farm market.

(22,767 posts)Like to keep a bowl of tomatoes, onion and cuke floating in vinegar and oil in the fridge and keep adding to it as we eat it. Heck, I'll even eat leftover green salad, wilted lettuce and all.
