They'll both be home from college this afternoon. My turn to spoil them with some home cooking.

I just spent a week surrounded by our 4 kids and their assorted families.

It was wonderful, and we spent a great deal of it eating.

Enjoy!

You can also do this with any ground meat.

I hydrate the tvp and brown it in the wok with mushrooms, green onions, lots of garlic and ginger and a hefty spoonful of Sambal olek....... In a cup I add a spoon full of brown sugar or Stevia, Black Soy, Reg Soy, Table spoon of rice vinegar and if I can spare the carbs a bit of Hoisin but not necessary. I also add a tablespoon or so of Powdered Peanut Butter or the real stuff. Blend well and pour it over the browned "meat" and veg.

I don't have exact measurements..I use the old eyeball method..... But it's hard to screw it up. Figure on about a quarter cup of black soy and an 1/8 of reg low sodium soy....You can sub the black soy with Tamari if you like

The trick is to add lots of garlic. At least 4 cloves....

I serve with lettuce as a wrap but truth be told this is really good with those little Hawaiian rolls.

Sounds good, and I love almost any dish that has some Hoisin and garlic...

mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed broccoli and carrots. Biscuits. It's chilly today, only in the 40s, but I am feeling a strong desire for comfort food. Can't seem to feel comfortable since last Friday.

and describes as fantastic. I have some leftover hamburger meat and sloppy joe, which I think I will combine for burgers, a couple of fresh italian sausages and makings for salad.

A good time should be had by all!

I just hope it is calmer than last night. Ended up with three tall candles tumbling on to my sofa and pouring wax all over the upholstery.

4 sliced red potatoes
2 chopped red onions
6 serrano peppers, sliced
about a 1/2 lb ham diced
assorted spices and soy sauce
Fry it up in olive oil and add the ham when the potatoes get tender and a little browned.

Makes about 3 meals for me.
