Dessert tonight was a favorite of ours - the epitome of autumn...Indian Pudding
I remember my grandmother making this when I was very young and me not liking it - the molasses flavor was a bit much for me (and I was a fussy little fellow when it came to food).
Through the years, I've made this or that version and we've enjoyed it. But it's been many years. We just came back from a trip to New England (spur of the moment, due to a family crisis). for some reason, it put me in the mind for making a New England dessert.
And so, after doing a Google search, I found this - http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Baked-Indian-Pudding-With-Maple-Syrup/Detail.aspx?prop24=RD_RelatedRecipes
It is spectacular. The flavor is true comfort food, and we served it hot with vanilla soy creamy (one of our favorite Trader Joe items)...of course good vanilla ice cream is perfect for it as well.
Give it a try and taste a prototypical dessert that screams fall in New England!
