I'm putting some lima beans with tomatoes in the slow cooker. Found the recipe on a blog.
Then I think I'll just thaw some ground beef and saute it with onion and have it in a wrap using a low-carb soft tortilla shell. De-lish with mustard.
I'm keeping it simple tonight.

I've got some shitake, but not sure what else is around, so it might be eclectic. If I'm lucky, I'll have pineapple chunks in the pantry.
Update: It wound up being an alfredo sauce base with shitake, avocado, shredded mozzarella, shaved sartori peppermint (a varietal hard cheese), and dusted with garlic powder and a mix of basil and dried tomato flakes.
Tasted really good.

(146,218 posts)singer on Mondays. Lots of fun and the food is great and inexpensive.
We had some really bad weather on Saturday night and it got pretty scary. We've moved into a marina to sit the rest of this weather event out and that makes it easy to go out. Plus we deserve it after what we went through!
Are your lima beans fresh? That is one of my favorite veggies ever. Ground beef in a tortilla is also my kind of simple heaven!
Enjoy.

(35,687 posts)After being in this house for days, due to snowstorms, it would be fun to go out and listen to a singer while having dinner. I would so love that. Lucky you, but sorry to hear about your bad weather on Saturday!
Lima beans are dried. I soaked them earlier in the day. This recipe is kind of like some I used to be able to buy in a jar at TJ's, but I don't see them there anymore.
When/if you post tomorrow, let us know what kind of music it was!

and p.s., has anyone been able to buy caper berries at TJ's lately? I wanted some, but on my last trip, they only had capers.

(146,218 posts)She sings a variety of mexican songs, mostly fun but some are romantic. She is backed up by a three piece acoustic band and she really works the room. There are only about 15 tables and it is one of the places in this town where gringos and locals both hang out. The women in the kitchen cook excellent regional food and the margaritas are exceptional!
I'm really looking forward to it.
What is the difference between a caper berry and a caper?
Hope you are able to get out soon. Although I complain of the heat a lot, I'd rather be here than there.

(35,687 posts)About half an inch in diameter. They are terrific. Someone posted a thread about them not too long ago; I'm pretty sure it was in this forum. They had had them at a party and didn't know what they were. It didn't take long for the knowledgeable ones on this thread to fill him in. The only place around here that stocks them is TJs, but no longer, apparently.
(sob, back of hand to head)
Maybe I'll do an internet search and see if I can find an alternative. Even if I have to pay postage, it's worth it.
You are going to have such a fun evening!

(22,720 posts)They discontinued the Arborio rice. I had to buy some from Kroger's and it wasn't nearly as good.

(20,234 posts)Nobody else is out shopping, so I was able to get a couple markdown strip steaks priced from priced from $10 down to $2. I'm searing one of them on the stove, finishing in the oven, and serving with a big salad of fruits and veggies.

(2,012 posts)Cut flour in half and added oats, cut brown and white sugar in half, added 1/2 cup no sugar/salt peanut butter and chopped pecans, and cut chocolate chips in half. Not bad.
