I buy pea pods all the time for stir fry. Today a friend gave me a bunch of fresh (developed) peas just picked from the garden. I am going to shell them and use the peas. Any good ideas about what to do with these developed pods?
I would love to use them in something but am afraid they might be too tough for my stir fry. It seems a waste to throw the naked pods away.
Do you use these pods? Love a recipe if you have one.

LUCKY! hard to get them where I am.

One of the best pea soups I've ever had was a pea pod soup after the peas were shelled, blanched and frozen. It works a lot better than people think it does. One caveat, though, if you've used insecticide on the pea patch, toss them.

If you do that, I'd put them in iced water before making them. They are terrific when they are crispy.
If you get lazy, one thing you could do is put them in your scrap vegetable bag in the freezer and later make vegetable soup stock from them.
