Ridiculously Easy Recipes for When You've Lost an Hours Sleep Thank you, daylight saving time.

Salmon, chicken, tomato sauce, +++

Here is a simple, excellent one-pot recipe for a midweek feast, full of rich flavor, with a sauce that you won't want to waste. It came to The Times via the Twitter account of Andrew Zimmern, who eats bugs on television as the host of “Bizarre Foods” on the Travel Channel but lives a sedate life back home in Minnesota when he’s not working, which is not often. His wife, Rishia Zimmern, adapted it from Martha Stewart, and he put it on the social network:

because, like me, he doesn't drink. Unlike me, he'll try anything. Plus, he does it cold sober.

Now I've tried a wide variety of things, fried grasshoppers, rattlesnake, dog, and the list does go on for a while. I do draw the line at a few of the things he's tried, like some of the stuff he ate in the Kalahari that he pronounced utterly foul but it kept them alive. I have a few standards. They're low, but I have them.

The only thing I ever saw him spit out was durian. If the faint whiff I've had through the peel at the international market is any indication, I don't think I'd have been able to put it into my mouth in the first place.

But yes, at home he's sane and he does know how to cook.

and often watch.

He's spit out a couple of things, and doesn't like walnuts so I'm WITH him! Have seen him cook/help others in their restaurants and homes, and he's very good at it.

and one of my favorite 10 minute meals is walnuts, broccoli, cottage cheese, and pasta. Grind some black pepper over it and it's heaven.

I agree about plain walnuts, they dry my mouth out and make my tongue sore and are nasty in chocolate chip cookies. Pecans are better for eating out of hand and put into most cookies. Walnuts are good in maple syrup breads, though.
