What's for Dinner, Sun., March 12, 2017

Italian sausage and pork in cream sauce. The pasta is organic penne.

Spinach with peanut sauce. Both dishes created by the RG. I was at a union meeting most of the day, so no culinary contributions from me!

Dessert will be gelato, caramel cookie crunch is the flavor.

It needs a fancier name. It looked like a pregnant pizza.

I started with a large slice of sourdough onion bread.

Piled on it were bell pepper slices of various colors, baby spinach leaves, small tomato wedges and possibly other veggies all pulled out of a leftover salad. Plus a small amount of ground beef in taco sauce, a few pickled jalapeno slices and some picante sauce. It was topped with Havarti and cheddar cheeses and placed in a medium-hot oven for about ten minutes until the cheese melted and the spinach wilted.

It was enjoyable to eat and only took 15 minutes to prepare. Sometimes the anything goes leftover meal is a winner.

or in English "Leftovers melt". I just made that up. What do you think?

A Dagwood is a traditional sandwich taken to extremes. My open face just wasn't one.
