(1,704 posts)cannelini beans, tomatoes, zucchini, black olives, Italian herbs. A base of sauteed onion and garlic, of course. I've always called it pasta fazool even though I know it's very different from the traditional. Our boys don't like it and call it "pasta for fools". Garlic bread and salad to go with.
Our older son had a hankering for apple pie, and there were some homemade pie shells in the freezer, so he peeled all the apples, and we have a dessert to look forward to. (Pretty rare thing at my house.)

(2,016 posts)OK, they were (kosher) salted and placed on racks in the fridge for a couple of days. Nicely dried, I must say, for home "drying".
Baked spuds (then grilled for crunchy skins), with sour cream, bacon bits and green onion. Grilled asparagus.
And, to serve with the meal, a very good cab called "Cuttings" (2014, Oakville, CA).
Spent the afternoon at the ball park, with the right side of my head sunburned despite the SPF 30. And I have a job interview tomorrow. This "look" is gonna be funny!
