Seeing the video and you making the salsa made me wonder if you ever grow tomatillos? I think I grew them once a long time ago, and got a few out of my one plant. I can't remember if they were easy to grow or not, though...

My goal is to share the stories of the tomatoes, get people enthused and confident about gardening. I know what a difference it makes on my life and just want others to feel it too.

I am having to start to say "no" to a few things - each day something new pops. Thank goodness for my daily journal writing - keeping me sane (though I suppose that is debatable!)

Keeping my eye squarely on the prize! Peace of mind and the joy of growing and eating one's own food!

At least you love tomatoes, and teaching people about tomatoes. It shows. I know what you mean about the public stuff, but you do it well. The discomfort that you talk about doesn't show.

Wish mine looked like that. I have one small tomato bush (hidden by mint that I need to trim back) and it has one tiny green tomato on it. It's been too hot here to do much in the way of gardening (like trimming back the mint), but I don't usually get enough direct sun to get many maters.

I also love love love your color coding of salsa batches for company. I too love salsa and that is how I usually use my tomatoes, whether I buy them from the store, or manage to grow any at home.

When I had my second-story walkway apartment garden, I started some of those from seed one year. Those were the best darn tomatoes EVER! The flavor--oh my! And hardy--on my gosh, those original plants came back for at least three years in a row; I never had to replant. One year, my last MM plant was still throwing blossoms in November and was over six feet tall, and that was one plant in a 5-gallon bucket. Incredible!

Congratulations, it's so nice to see something nice in the news these days....

and I'm generally not that fond of tomatoes. LOL!

I grew them hydroponically in front of my apartment. Neighbors were quite impressed.

After reading this OP and watching this video, I realised that you are the lovely person who sent me some heirloom tomato seeds!!!! (Okay, I'm 59 and very forgetful!) I will be forever grateful for those seeds! tytytytytyty!!!

I'm on my second garden in an established garden spot (the owners of my little country rent house had a massive garden where my small plot now struggles to produce). I have just lost most of my okra, squash and beans to a fat and relentless groundhog. (I have a friend who is lending me his small shotgun, since my electric fence is not a deterrent.) Ironically, this critter has not decimated my strawberry patch, nor my basil. Seems to be averse to my peppers, too. Luckily, he can't get through my tomato cages.

My baby sister lives in north Raleigh. (Okay, she's only a year younger than me...)

Thank you for posting all your tomato news and pics. I love seeing the variety--so beautiful!
