Please tell me I was not the only parent who worried about dropping my child off at school today?

I hope I am not the only parent dealing with this. I cried and raged this weekend. I grabbed my fifth grader after school on Friday and LOST it. She understood. She hugged me and let me cry. Fuck being a big strong man......FUCK IT! My baby was safe on a day that others lost theirs.

Now it is time to drop her off at school. She agreed to have her emergency cell on her today for me. The superintendent was there welcoming kids and parents, showing that today is NOT normal. I know that it was random violence. I know the odds of something happening at my daughters school are very low. I also know that parents of the Sandy Hook victims would have said the same thing as they dropped their kids off on Friday.

So, there you go DUer's. How did you feel dropping off your kids today?

And I know of no parent who was not. And I have siblings who are teachers and it was hard for them as well. We are all affected ...we all grieve..... we all know it could have been ours.

Hugs are good. Aren't we lucky that we get to give and get them?
