Related: About this forumNovember is senior pet month: advantages to adopting a senior cat
http://cattime.com/adopting-a-senior-cat.htmlSenior pets are really cool! This month, shelter and rescue groups around the country are emphasizing the adoption of these lovely critters. Cat Time took a look at some of the best aspects of adopting a mature furry friend.
From the article:
Most senior cats will already have their vaccinations, so you know theyll be healthy, and youll also save some cash since you wont be shelling out for them. Same goes for spaying or neutering. (Some kittens will be vaccinated or spayed/neutered as well, but its not uncommon for them to require these procedures at your cost.)
Grown-ups are often housebroken as well, which is a huge bonus for those who work during the day. Instead of cleaning up your kittys messes, youll get to spend that time enjoying your new companion. Your carpets will thank you, too.

(18,219 posts)1. You forgot one of the most important reasons to adopt a senior.
These are the animals who languish in the rescue groups, watching while all the kittens and puppies keep getting snatched up. They are very grateful pets.

Best $55 I ever spent. She went to Heaven last year, at 16.

(18,219 posts)3. Oh, and that brings up another great reason.
Rescues often give price breaks on seniors.
Shoot, there are at least a hundred reason to adopt a senior. All but one of my adoptions were adults, although only two were seniors, and it was wonderful. They may be lost a little sooner than a young one, but they are so glad to have a forever home.

Dear God, they are just wonderful.
As you can see, it's his favorite place to be.
