PA Senate passes MMJ bill

40-7. The Senator representing the 'burg where I grew up voted against it. Naturally. Idiot.

My friend in Philly who was very active on this told me last night that they got an amendment for vapor included yesterday. They also added in a few additional qualifying conditions. Not sure what the makeup of the current legislation is, but he said that it will likely be stripped back down to CBD-only oils and tinctures and only for children with Dravets when the house gets it. Blargle.

Here is a link I googled since my information is from email.

Congrats to the fine folks of PA! Here's hoping the house leaves it intact as it is a good start. I have been told that the governor will sign, so there is that.

it's a start. Maybe after they get the regs written and the program up and running they'll have expanded the coverage.

I was on MMJ in Colorado and it was a god send. now I'm back here in PA and taking 4 meds that only marginally take care of things. I've been praying for this. I'm glad they approved vaping. It was how I was medicating in CO. I tried everything, bud, tinctures, edibles but vaping was the best of both worlds; the quick response of smoking bud but not the throat/lung irritation. I suspect they will end up including other conditions down the road........fingers crossed.

and explained that CBD oils taken daily are great for preventative treatment like seizures, but don't work for cases of PTSD where immediate relief is required - or cancer patients who can't keep the oils (or edibles) 'down' long enough for the body to process them. Said she asked him to push to keep vapor in the bill.

If she had a need to write back, I recommended that she also reinforce the length of time it takes the body to process ingested cannabis. People may think after an hour that they didn't get what they need to get relief and take even more, when they should have waited an hour and 20 minutes.

We shouldn't even be having to come up with these talking points. Over a plant.
