Rahm Emanuel, a couple of years BEFORE he wrote a $399,950 check to the Second Amendment Foundation

A DIRECT QUOTE from his mouth...

...If your on that no fly list your access to the right to bear arms is canceled, because your not part of the American family, you don't deserve that right, their is no right for you if your on that terrorist list..

I wonder if he would say that to Ted Kennedy?? Not to mention the THOUSANDS of average folks that has found themselves on that list without the recourse to clear their name. Very nice, attaching civil liberties to a secret list that was created by a Republican administration.......

My opinion of Mr Emanuel, is very different now, since I heard him say that.

Frankly, I don't think that there's any evidence that he's the evil DLC centerist conservative imperialist ogre that people here like to make him out to be. But in this case, yes, he's just being plain stupid and a jackass. It's hypocritical in the extreme.

abrasive, corrupt, and power mad Chicago politician, in a long line of abrasive, corrupt, and power mad Chicago politicians. You don't get bag men slipping you envelopes full of cash as White House Chief of Staff like you do in City Hall.

Real power comes from knowing which Union bosses really control the garbage collectors and snow removal crews, which contractors will keep your reelection well-financed, which building inspectors will share their bribes to keep their jobs....

And the only thing I think I know about the guy is he wants to be on the side of whatever side the big money is on.

He is definitely not my kind of guy.

And have no idea why Barack Obama would have anything to do with him.

So count me as naive.

The big money is usually on the side of whoever wins.

And since "the company" usually likes to be on the side of whoever wins, maybe he's just CIA.

...that contribution wasn't wasted. Rahm and 398 of his closest friends could have gotten "Committee of One Thousand" memberships.
