The stupidest gun "buy back" that is guranteed to fail

although "buy back" is an inappropriate term since the police never owned them to begin with, but I digress.

A "no questions asked" policy will be in effect, allowing individuals to anonymously dispose of firearms without the fear of charges.

Amnesty for possession of a firearm without a permit is granted for those who turn in a firearm or ammunition at the time they walk into the gun buyback facilities. It is not granted for the time prior to walking into the facility or after leaving the facility.
so you get busted walking in, or while walking out with your gift card. How many takers are there? I seriously doubt anyone is willing to risk going to prison for a $50 gift card.

May I make a suggestion to Cease Fire, Injury Free Coalition for Kids of New Haven and Worchester, or any churches that sponsor these things:
pay market value
get a blanket amnesty agreement from the cops, but keep them out of it.

I suspect the "after" refers to persons who are caught with a different gun at a future petronius Nov 2012 #1

date - i.e., it's not a life-time Get Out of Jail Free card. But yeah, it does seem like there's an implied risk of getting busted while walking up the driveway. Which seems a bit discouraging...
