It's one day a year....
Each year...
Relive the nightmare.
DOA.

Life goes on....
Many beautiful things have transpired...
If only he had lived to be a part of them....

peace~

You know I've also had more than my share, and I undertand all too well how painful these anniversary dates--each anniversary date--can be.

And those of us who know you here know that your reference to AO-related birth defects is not a casual one. Your own daughter has suffered through an ordeal all her life as a consequence of Joe's service.

The 1st of July will always be a tough day for you. My heart goes out to you on this day. But I also know that you have your wonderful family and your new grandchild to sustain you (and thanks again for your recent post of those great photos).

The effects of that long-ago war will always be there--probably even after we're gone...

R.I.P. and Semper Fi, Joe.
