The free bravenak thing was HILARIOUS!!! At first I was just going to go with the censored sign, then I was like, hmmm, prison bars, that will be insane!
Same. My stuff that turns out really polite, you should see what I write at first. You'd think I have Tourettes.
The prison bar thing was the bomb. Reminded me of Free Angela or Free Mumia.

You're a great leader here in this group and on DU as a whole. So many great experiences to share and truly one of the best writers I've read anywhere. Sometimes your posts make me think far beyond a simple reply and other times they make me fall down laughing they're so damn funny. I will never forget the evening we shared making up MLK memes like 'In the words of MLK I'm going to see Jurassic World.' ROFLMAO. Thank you my friend!

(11,833 posts)I had a very nice low key 'me time' kind of day. Read a lot of stuff about football and MMA. Couldn't bear to watch what was happening in Paris, the city of lights. It's been a wonderful night, a buddy took me out to a restaurant where we got nachos with beef and chile. There was sports on tv so it was nice relief from news. Thanks!

(11,833 posts)I love your posts. I'm always interested in what you have to say and the way you say it. So glad to be part of the online community with you. Yes, birthday is over now and I'm glad I avoided too much news. Sometimes I feel all that news is so depressing. We should also be strengthening our bonds on friendship on our planet. I know you agree, and I want to do my best to keep adding to those bonds.

(11,833 posts)Thank you for the warm birthday wishes! There's always a party up in here. So many welcoming, intelligent, fun people in this group.
Thanks so much for all your kindness over a long period of time here Cha. You were my first online 'friend' here at DU. Your humor and willingness to reply helped me feel comfortable posting. We've shared so many fun times here and in the Barack Obama group.
What a beautiful New Mexico sunset. We had one similar to that here last week. Orange, purple, blue and yellow sky. Every time I see it I'm grateful for the incredible beauty of nature. It's greater than any individual work of art and it's a landscape that changes the more you look at it. And of course whenever I see your posts I think of the beautiful Hawaii, an absolutely magical place of so much awesome beauty that words cannot sufficiently describe.
This song's for you my friend:
Cha
(297,321 posts)tears to my eyes.. the lyrics are sooo beautiful.
Just what I needed right now.. and it's your party.
I haven't heard this in so long.. Now I'm in a puddle of tears.. it's beautiful~
I'm going to put it in my journal so I can remember to play it when I need to relax and enjoy the beauty of Donny Hathaway's soul music.
Life sure does change on a dime.. one minute you're goin' along and the next you're crying because the music is so beautiful. I know I keep saying that word.. lol
Well, nice lovemydog.. I can see why you wanted to celebrate it in the AA Group.. as you say: "So many welcoming, intelligent, fun people.."
Now I'm honored to hear I was your first online friend here.. that's what I like most about discussing politics and the ways of the world.. the friends I've met over the years. It would be no fun to just post and not have friends to share the good and the bad news with.
Hawaii is such a unique part of Mother Nature in our Country.. but, I've lived all over the US.. in the mountains, the desert, the plains, and the ocean in Cal.. and I miss them all.. except maybe the plains.
Mahalo for such an entertaining party!

(11,833 posts)Yes, music sometimes brings tears of joy to me too. My mom was a professional flutist and I got that from her. It's the universal language.

(11,833 posts)She was never a purist. She played classical (her first love), jazz, pop & rock. I share her joy for music as a form of therapy and universal communication. Your son and his wife will love this song. I don't know who the heck wouldn't!

(11,833 posts)You know that I really enjoy reading all your posts, going all the way back to the days when I heard you too enjoy sports. We also had some hilarious discussions about the 'hands up don't shoot stuff' where I'm sure we were laughing to keep from crying. Your insight and sharp wit are a great benefit to everyone here. Keep it up my friend!
For you. I have no idea what this is but it has 'Jamaal' in the name and it sounded pretty rad to me, lol:
