Michael Eric Dyson brought the heat this morning ...

in a wide ranging interview on The Breakfast Club!

http://www.power1051fm.com/media/play/26704989/

He man is amazing in his encyclopedic knowledge of Black culture and fair minded critique of everything from Bill Cosby (hypocritical) to Stacey Dash (She's a Black woman. I'm not questioning that. She is just lethally and profoundly misinformed) to Cornell West (I'm not attacking him, just narrating his downfall) President Obama's approach to race (He got slap happy publically; but, the events of the day, brought him back. Bill Clinton had more permission to be Black in public than President Obama. "This is who he is.&quot .

Some of what he says I disagree with; but, most had me nodding my head. It's 45:34; but, give it a listen!

such great respect for him, and always have. He doesn't pull any punches but above all else, he keeps it real. Every opinion of his that you posted really is spot on seen from "the outside looking in", 1SBM, especially that last part: " Bill Clinton had more permission to be Black in public than President Obama." Looking into the future, and as the first Black president of the United States, President Obama had to be the standard bearer; the first of hopefully many to come. It is an awesome responsibility but one he executed with grace and poise.

President Obama truly is the best president of my lifetime - bar none.

I really don't want to think of him leaving the White House. I know it's selfish of me since he has a family and a life, but man. It's going to be hard.

However, there will be more great things coming from this man. You just wait and see.

It has been a joy having Obama and his incredible family living in our House. They graced that House with dignity and a beauty that shines brightly.

come from this incredible man, husband, father, and president. It's just going to be hard, really hard, for me to watch him and his beautiful family leave the White House. I dread that day but I will watch...with eyes pooled with tears, but I'll watch!

Family in Holland all tell me, everyday, that they're jealous that he's our president. He's also beloved in Europe! He's a huge celebrity and he wows them with his demeanor, his grace, his handsome face, and his wisdom. When he leaves the room, everyone is starry-eyed and swooning. lol

You highlighted my favorite passage from that article.

And yes, I agree that we have not finished being impressed by him or his family. It's going to be fun to watch what he does next.

A Bernice Sanders would never have had his degree of success. A woman who waved her arms and yelled like he does wouldn't be lauded for being passionate -- she'd be called hysterical and shrill.

and they both nodded. Had Bernie been Bernice, he wouldn't have gotten away with shouting and hand-flailing and then looked at like some icon of integrity and passion. He'd be looked at as if he'd gone insane.

race issues adequately. I'm just disappointed that so many black people blame him for it rather than white supremacy.
