One photograph. So much emotion.

On This Day: Maya Angelou receives a Medal of Freedom from President Obama at the White House, February 15, 2011

Not sure if I want to laugh with joy or shed tears for such an amazing moment of beauty. Well, I am crying. The image takes my breath away. Raw emotion for all to see, not just Maya but the President too. So much history in that photograph. Every picture tells a story, this one speaks volumes.

Maya once became a virtual mute due to trauma. She most certainly found her voice again.

I was probably in a hurry to get outside and play and was annoyed at having to be introduced to her

Those who think beauty belongs to the young have not spent time gazing on that face.

PBO is pretty good in the looks department too.

It was one of those times you just sit in the car in the parking lot cause you want to hear the whole thing. What an amazing woman!
