1. Is Roddick losing in the first round at Roland Garros (or anywhere these days) an upset anymore?

but would it depend on who he played? I'm reading Mahut was ranked #88. Some people who cover the sport are calling it an upset but I don't really know.

I posted this thread in honor of joeybee for his upset spoilers posts.

6. Even though Roddick stinks now, it's still an upset...

I read Mahut had never won his first round match at the French in his previous 7 tries!

3. No surprise - he's a hard court player

and a struggling one at that

I like Andy, but he had a hard time against Federer and I think it took it's toll mentally. Nadal and Djoker are enough younger that they had a better chance. But Andy should come back stronger for Wimbledon/US Open if he's healthy.

4. I used to sort of like him, but he's become a petulant ass.....

He spends so much time grousing at umpires and whining - and losing - that I can't watch him anymore. And sadly, it seems to have rubbed off on his friend Mardy Fish. Isner is definitely the class act among U.S. players.

I get kinda bored watching Isner with his big serve, but he definitely seems to be dedicated to the sport and certainly doesn't lose his cool.

7. At this point, threads relating to this sport should be in a separate group under "International"

because there are no American men, or women not named Williams for that matter, who know how to play it anymore.
